I've Been there.Okay-maybe I haven't experienced every birth scenario imaginable, but I definitely have a background in birth to say the least! With four children of my own, each boasting elaborate and quite unique birth stories of their own, I can teach not only through my training, but through personal experience. I plan to cover important topics in weekly or individual sessions such as; the birth process, pain management, complications in labour, breastfeeding, related mood disorders, physical changes of pregnancy and basic newborn care.

Relax. Talk. Listen.Private classes would be held in your own home. Group classes would be in an environment I will provide. Classes will be intended to provide not only knowledge to the couple, but a safe place to connect with other families who are in a similar stage of pregnancy. I imagine a class full of warm, friendly faces. A class free of judgement and stigma. I see us on chairs, or comfy floor pillows, with a water or tea in hand. I envision a space with natural light and calming music. I plan to allow a partner, friend or member of the family attend each group session to learn along side and support the mother.

Passionate About Birth.I have decided to venture down the path towards teaching because I feel I will fit this role very well. I will enjoy it. I have the deep passion about pregnancy and birth that it takes to be able to share and listen with empathy and without judgement. I am a mother. I have been home with my children since our first was born in 2006. I did home daycare all those years so I could be home with them. With our youngest starting school next year, I wanted to start something for me. As a doula and childbirth educator I can put the last ten years of experience and passion from motherhood directly toward my career.
